BODY ART PREVENTS JOBS

Welcome to the twenty first century, where judgement based strictly on appearance when at the workplace and everywhere except for at the comfort of your own home is an everyday occurance, thank you for stoping by you seem like an amazing person unfortunatly, your appearance does not meet our standards for today, you can leave now. Truly redicoulus, tell me im wrong. Obviously every individual has a different opinion and outlook on how someone should appear when working in a professional or non-professional workplace, most of what people say is understandable to an extent. With that being said I asked sixteen people a six of questions based around tattoos, just to get an understanding on what random people may think. Many people have gotten fired from jobs based strictly on the tattoos they have, and it needs to stop.

Sixteen anonomys individuals all being asked the same questions, all with answers varying showing their real opinions when it comes to tattoos, 93% of the recipients have never gotten a tattoo, with 6% of them having at least one tattoo. Continuing on with that the answers vary from wanting a tattoo, but with sentimental meaning behind it so that when they see it, it would make them happy, while on the other hand a fair amount of the responses were no due to the common just not liking needles or how they look to straight up saying “Probably not! Because tattoos are not classy nor professional” the answers really range from one side of the bridge to the other. People really have different opinions on them. I asked myself a question and thought have I ever judged someone based purely on their appearance, not only tattoo’s but in general and I was sad to realize that i most likely have and that the answer for myself is most likely a yes, with realizing that i then brought that question to the same sixteen individuals and like myself some of them realized something they were not to happy with. For quite a few of them their answers were the similar to this response “Unfortunately, yes. Unkept people, especially those with lots of tattoos and piercings are almost immediately categorized in a lower socioeconomic category without even a conscious awareness of this; when meeting them or passing them in public.” While others feel as though they have the right to judge someone to a certain extent and some just straight up do not believe they have ever done such a thing. To make that statement clearer 75% of people believe they have never judged someone based on tattoos they have 18% saying that they are guilty of doing so and 6% can not remember if they ever have. “Tattoos should not keep someone from getting the job they want, unless the imagery is disturbing or offensive” is what one individual said in response to tattoos keeping someone away from there dream career, the other fifteen responses were in agreement alongside myself.
