Astyrus
Beyond the tattoo

In the painting, you see the waist of a woman by the name of Astyrus, all she appears to be wearing is a lace pair of underwear, displayed behind that is her elegant body art both simple and unique all with an important and sentimental meanings behind it. It is not too much and it is strategically placed in a space that could be hidden from the publics eye. Astyrus is a nanny in New York City and has been for the past seven years she has had two different families that she has worked for in that time frame, with her most recent family an issue arose after four years of working with them. On a warm summer day Astyrus was spending the day with the entire family, parents included, She was wearing a blue and white stripped blouse with a pair of navy shorts when a gust of wind rolled in, making her blouse move with the wind revealing the top end of her tattoos, all was fine and they continued on with their day. The next morning the parents met with Astyrus in the kitchen while the children were still asleep in the rooms, to discuss the possible tattoo sighting they had seen yesterday. After an hour long discussion of the tattoos that parents were not previously aware of Astyrus was then relived of her duties with this family, she was fired because of her tattoos saying they realized she was no longer a good influence on their children, even though they were located in an area where she had hoped would not affect her career. I used a majority of black and whites in this painting to describe the emotional side, black is being used to show the sadness and anger felt towards the disrespect she received from the simple tattoo that cannot be seen easily
